Kate Crawford

Kate will be living in Florida during the time of our retreat.  She is offering FREE one hour wellness consultations after the retreat to women who attend Moving Into the Light! (In person, by phone or Skype)

Kate is a board-certified Holistic Health Counselor and a Kripalu trained yoga teacher.  But that only scratches the surface of her expertise.

Her passion for health and wellness started as a girl.  She remembers organizing calisthenic routines on the playground in elementary school and counseling her mom on the importance of breakfast and eating three meals a day.

Precocious?
Maybe.

But the underlying passion to help people feel better in their bodies was there.

She never thought of her interest in health as more than a hobby when she went through school and graduated college with a degree in International Business.  Kate thought she was destined to be a prolific career women who traveled the world.

Well, the traveling happened, but her interest in the corporate world quickly dissolved.

After watching the hustle of New York City one too many times from her 28th floor apartment, Kate knew she needed a change.  It wasn't just that she made up her mind.  No.  Her body was crying out for help.

She had chronic low back pain that would cripple her, bloating and digestive issues that left her cranky and miserable and irregular periods that doctors told her was "normal". Not to mention the anxious and chaotic state of her mind that affected her relationships, career and wellbeing.

Kate felt too emotionally and physically sensitive to be a part of the world. She just wanted to withdraw, retreat to a cabin deep in the woods somewhere and escape.

None of her symptoms were deemed serious enough to go to the doctor, but they all added up and continually lowered her quality of life. And for a girl that likes the very best from life, Kate refused to accept that she had to live the rest of her life discontent in her
body.

So began her long journey to reconnect with her body and balance her mind.

Kate enrolled at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York City to become a Holistic Health Counselor. There she studied over 100 different dietary theories and dove deep into nutrition and lifestyle.

She also studied in an intensive 200 hour month-long yoga training at the Kripalu Center in the Berkshires where she learned to listen to her body, strengthen her nervous system and cultivate a lasting meditation practice.

Her journey took her to some of the most outstanding wellness professionals in the field
where she continued to expand her perspective on health and collect valuable tools to heal and rebalance the body.  Along the way Kate moved to Milan, London and Paris, but never forget her Southern roots in Tallahassee, Florida.

Kate's journey has no end point.  Of course she has days where she eats too much or loses her cool or disconnect from her intuition. But those are now the exception not the rule. Mostly she feels incredibly grateful for her precious body and at peace in her mind.

And Kate wants that for all women.  Everywhere.

To end the underlying struggles and toxic noise so they can see themselves as perfect and whole. Not the perfect Vogue model or the perfect yogi. The perfect real you.

That is Kate's tale and her mission.

When she is not teaching yoga and celebrating her clients' victories, Kate is nested in the Santa Cruz mountains in Los Gatos, California with my boyfriend and little dog Jethro.  She loves to go for hikes with friends, plan elaborate dinner parties that may never come to fruition, lay in the grass with a good book, indulge in hot baths and eat the most delicious dark chocolate her money can buy.
